Operation

In the certificate of Heavy Equipment Operations – Lattice Boom Crawler Crane program you will get to experience what it’s like to be at the helm of a crane. After a certain point of textbook learning, the only way to learn how to do something is to actually do it.

Additionally, you’ll have the chance to be in the cab with one of our instructors as they teach you the ropes of crane operation. Depending on the campus and program, simulators may be used as part of the hands-on crane operation training.

Knowledgeable Instructors

In addition, HEC’s instructors have valuable work experience in crane operation. They have insight into the field that they can pass on to you. They are committed to helping you master the material and skills you will use on the job. Our smaller class sizes make it easier for you to get the assistance you need to finish the program.

Safety

At HEC, we take safety seriously. It is the highest priority in our programs. Maximizing safety at the worksite starts with learning proper safety techniques and practices. For instance, our programs cover personal protective equipment (PPE), pre-operation inspections, and safety techniques and best practices when you are operating heavy equipment. Mastering safety methods early on can help you build good habits to carry with you throughout your career.

Certification

The skills and knowledge you gain in either crane operation program at HEC will help prepare you to achieve certification from the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). Our campuses that offer our mobile crane operation program are NCCCO-approved testing sites. This will allow you to take the certification exam on campus in a setting that is familiar.

Three Weeks

Above all, one of the biggest benefits of an HEC program is the accelerated pace. Our programs are three weeks long, meaning there is a lot of learning that takes place during that time. It’s a pretty quick turnaround, so you’ll need to be ready to focus and study hard over the brief session. If you do that, you can leave with the knowledge and skills you need to pass the certification test and pursue entry-level positions.

HEC’s crane operator training programs can help prepare you for an in-demand career as a crane operator.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of construction equipment operators is projected to increase by as much as 12 percent by 2026. This includes lattice boom crawler crane and mobile crane operators.

Furthermore, we also offer a number of career services to our students, including mock interviews, resume assistance and an online job board. We have relationships with many employers, as well as an extensive alumni network.

If you need help paying for school, a variety of financing options are available, and you can find out about them by contacting the campus nearest you.
